Apartment kitchen pipe backup causing extensive damage to drywall, surrounding flooring, and cabinetry above and below the kitchen sink. The carpet next to the kitchen was completely saturated, it turned a completely different color, and this prompted us that we needed to remove the carpet as quickly as possible.
Luckily, there was minimal damage to the tile in the kitchen, only the tile under the sink needed to be removed. As for the cabinetry and the drywall, there was a lot of moisture with slight mold growth.
Unfortunately, because of the damage to the cabinets, we could not salvage them, and the cabinets were replaced with new ones once water remediation was complete. Our repair crew also replaced the removed drywall and flooring for this apartment.
